BLOG #10: VIRAL MARKETING
Everyday, we come across ads. Whether it be on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat, ads are everywhere and a lot of times, brands, companies, and marketers will make these ads subtle and low-key. For example, Facebook will usually put ads for stuff you recently looked up or browsed at, making it more likely to catch your attention, Snapchat will usually put a short sponsored video clip at the end of someone’s story, and even Google will use those annoying pop up ads that don’t let you see what you wanted to see. Like the Wikipedia article mentioned, “the growth of social networks significantly contributed to the effectiveness of viral marketing.” This relates to our final project because just like our project has to be veered towards a certain audience and has to be able to catch their attention, viral marketing has to do the same; it has to “[give] the right message to the right messengers in the right environment.”
