BLOG #4: CONSIDER THE LOBSTER

David Foster Wallace starts off the article by talking about the Maine Lobster Festival and then takes the article in a different direction and starts to talk about the lobster itself and then how they’re treated and killed. I find this approach interesting because it gives a little backstory, giving the reader a better idea on how the lobster is treated and essentially feels going through that horrendous experience. I also found it interesting how David Foster Wallace touched upon both sides of the argument. He made it clear that he found the treatment inhumane but also gave both sides of the story. I’ve always been aware of how they treat lobsters when they kill them to eat and that’s why I never eat lobster but I feel like many people aren’t aware of the inhumane treatment and this article gives great insight of that treatment.
